Kyle, Texas has some entertaining events in the new year!
The New Year brings with it one of the most anticipated events for the city of Kyle and the Central Texas community. On Jan. 23, we will be celebrating the many successes that 2008 brought the Kyle Area Chamber at the Roaring Twenties Awards Gala, taking place at the Texas Disposal System Exotic Game Ranch. If you have not been to the facility then you are in for an incredible treat. The use of this facility was donated by Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala sponsor, Texas Disposal Systems. With more than 900 acres, the facility is home to more than 1,100 exotic animals. The location truly offers a great venue for us to roar about our many accomplishments.
This year our keynote presentation will be made by Keith W. Beitler, Sr. VP and Chief Operating Officer-Specialty Restaurants Division and International Franchising for Landry's. Keith oversees the daily operation of property management, including business planning, supervision of personnel and implementation of company policies and procedures. In addition to his dedicated work within the U.S., Keith also oversees 11 international locations that stretch across the globe. He is Landry's sole executive with all international related commerce. He will speak about how supporting the business community with membership in a Chamber of Commerce is the right thing to do for your business.
For information on the Gala and Membership please visit www.kylechamber.org. The live auction and silent auction for the Awards Gala are off to a great start. Some of the highlights of our auction are: a two night stay for up to 14 people at a River House along the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels, a grand stay at the Inn Above Onion Creek along with dinner and breakfast for two and much more. This fundraiser is essential to the Kyle Chamber's effort to "become the catalyst through which business, industry, professionals, and municipalities work together for the common good of the community."

This year was a great year as the city of Kyle was recognized once again as the fifth fastest growing city in Texas and the number one hot spot for business development in Central Texas according to the Austin and San Antonio Business Journals. This next year will provide many challenges to address our tremendous growth but we feel confident that we have great leaders and community members who will step up to the task of making the city of Kyle a great place to live, work and play. This last year the Kyle Chamber was awarded three state-wide awards from the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives organization. We could not have had the many successes without the support of the business community, organizations, individual members and the many other surrounding community business and tourism organizations.
With the New Year, take time to revitalize your business with free business counseling at the Kyle Chamber office provided by the Small Business Development Center at Texas State University.
