Kyle Chamber Board of Directors & Committees

Chair: Herb Dyer
The Executive Committee shall act for and on behalf of the Chamber's Board of Directors when the Board is not in session, with its actions subject to ratification by the Board, except that Board ratification is not required for staff hiring. Compensation for staff shall be established by the Board. The Executive Committee shall also consider proposed actions and make recommendations to the Board. The Executive Committee of the Chamber shall consist of the following officers: Past President, President, Vice President, (who shall be the next calendar year's President), Secretary, Treasurer, and Executive Director. All officers must be members of the Board of Directors and shall be elected by such Board. Said Executive Committee shall have the responsibility for making certain governing decisions as might be established by the Board of Directors. Such responsibilities of the Executive Committee shall be as defined and may be amended by a majority vote of the Board of Directors at any regular or special meeting.
Chair: Caitlyn Pesl
Chamber representatives, who welcome and educate new members, attend events and provide on-going support year-round. A point system has been put in place with minimum monthly points required to maintain membership. This committee is guided by the Membership Sales Director and will meet the second Tuesday of each month from 11:30am-12:30pm at area restaurant venues.
Education and Talent Committee
Chair: Michelle Lopez
The Education and Talent Committee plays an important role by working with Hays CISD, ACC, Texas State and other area educational organizations, as they relate to our business community. The Chair will actively participate in the Plan of Work process. This committee will also provide useful learning opportunities for the business community in an innovative format to include speed networking, seminars, etc. This committee is guided by a Chair and will meet on the first Tuesday of every month 11:30am-12:30pm.
Chair: Angie Mendez
The Tourism committee will provide guidance and input in the execution of tourism efforts of the Kyle Area Chamber. The committee will be made up of members that have experience in the tourism industry as well as the City of Kyle Communications Director and the Parks and Recreation Director. This committee will meet on the first Wednesday of the quarter 9am-10am to review the tourism budget and expenditures utilized in the execution of tourism efforts. This committee must provide the Kyle City Secretary an agenda seven days prior to a scheduled meeting for public posting.
Nomination and Election Committee
Chair: Brian Ziegler
The Nomination and Election Committee shall make nominations for positions on the Board of Directors. The committee will be composed of three (3) Directors appointed by the President to include the Treasurer and Secretary who will oversee the process. The Committee shall select as nominees those members who are in good standing. Any number of nominees may be submitted provided, however, that the list contain at least five (5) names. The names of those selected must be submitted to the Nominating Committee by the last business day of the month of October. The election of members to serve shall be held at the November general membership meeting. The Nominating Committee shall serve as election judges. The chair will actively participate in the Plan of Work process for 2012.
Chair: Terry Taylor
The Golf committee will plan and execute a golf tournament the second week of September in an effort to draw visitors to the Kyle area and raise funds for the general interest of the Kyle Area Chamber. The committee will be made of members that will play a hands-on role with direction from the Chair of the committee. This committee will meet on Wednesdays 9am-10am based on a schedule created by the Chair starting in April. Attendance and active participation is required for membership on this committee.
Awards Banquet Committee
Chair: Jessica Walker
The Award Banquet committee will plan and execute an awards banquet during the first three months of the year with a goal of providing an event that is executed in a professional manner that honors the work, accomplishments and investments by our members. The committee will be made of members that will play a hands-on role with direction from the Chair of the committee. This committee will meet 12pm-1pm on Fridays based on a schedule created by the Chair starting in May. Attendance and active participation is required for membership on this committee.
North Hays County Expo Committee
Chair: Anthony Baragas
The Expo committee will plan and execute an expo during the first Thursday in October with a goal of creating a business showcase that will attract business and community members alike. This event is conducted in partnership with the Buda Chamber and will be made up of five members representing the Kyle Chamber. This committee will meet 9am-10am on Thursdays based on a schedule created by the Chair.
Kyle Fair and Music Festival
Chair: Mia Hendricks
The Kyle Fair and Music Festival committee will plan and execute a four-day tourism event in partnership with Man Promotions at Thunderhill Raceway. The committee will meet Thursdays 1:30pm-2:30pm based on a schedule created by the Chair. Members of the committee will consist of Mary Ann Naumann, Executive Director, one member and one board member.
5K Kyle-O-Meter Run and Marathon Bike Ride
Chair: Jim Hough
The5K Kyle-O-Meter Run and Marathon Bike ride committee will plan and execute a tourism event in conjunction with the Kyle Fair and Music Festival. The committee will meet Thursdays 1:30pm-2:30pm based on a schedule created by the Chair of the Kyle Fair and Music Festival. Members of the committee will consist of Office Manager, at least three members, one representative from the Title sponsor and one board member.
