DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Monitor and review security cameras.
Conduct regular walking and driving patrols of the premises.
Monitor the alarm system to detect fire and other emergencies.
Answer calls and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member.
Write daily activity reports.
Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency or to report unlawful activity.
Circulate among employees and visitors to preserve order and protect property.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers and subordinates to maintain security and manage emergency responses.
Recognize and report on public safety hazards.
Interpret social cues and behaviors in order to identify possible security threats.
Other duties as assigned.
Must be at least 18 years of age;
Must demonstrate knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures and strategies;
Must demonstrate basic computer skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite – e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook;
Must present a professional demeanor on the phone and in person;
Must possess critical thinking skills;
Ability to coordinate multiple people, groups or tasks;
Ability to teach, instruct, direct in a professional manner;
Must be service-oriented;
Must demonstrate an awareness or understanding of social cues to identify possible security threats; and
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR) for the past five years
