The 2012 Sacred Springs Powwow will honor a thousand-year-old prophecy about the eagle and condor with storytelling, flute playing, Aztec dance, and even an official t-shirt, on October 6 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Aquarena Center, 921 Aquarena Springs Drive, San Marcos, Texas.

SACRED SPRINGS POWWOW
EVENT SCHEDULE
10:00 AM -- Blessing at the shores of the Sacred Springs.
11:00 AM -- Gourd Dancers
12:00 PM -- Grand Entry of all dancers and all Native people dressed in regalia.
2:00 PM -- LUNCH BREAK for DANCERS. Presentation on Eagle and Condor with performance by Cuicani In Xochitl Aztec dance company from Dallas, Texas.
3:00 PM -- Gourd Dancers
4:00 PM -- Grand Entry of all dancers and all Native people dressed in regarlia.
5:00 PM -- Honor Dance for Powwow Committee & Lucky Tomblin Family.
5:30 PM -- Traditional Give-away of honor gifts.
6:00 PM -- Closing Prayer.
PARKING for PUBLIC
Due to the newly completed restoration of this area, very limited parking is available and most of this will be used by vendors and Glass Bottom Boat visitors. For the Powwow, Texas State University is providing parking for the public in Lot 9, which is directly across the street from the Aquarena Center, on Aquarena Springs Drive. Shuttle buses will be provided to transport visitors to the Powwow grounds. For a map of the powwow area and parking area, please click here: MAP .
Admission for adults is $2.00 or two cans of food for the local food bank, and is free for veterans, elders, students and children. For more information call (512) 393-3310 or visit www.IndigenousCultures.org.
DIRECTIONS to AQUARENA CENTER
From I-35 going SOUTH to San Marcos:
Exit I-35 at Exit 206 and proceed to traffic light.
At traffic light, turn right onto Aquarena Springs Drive.
Go past two traffic lights and over railroad tracks.
Immediately after railroad tracks, Parking Lot 9 will be on your left. (The shuttle bus pick-up sign will be visible from the street.) Turn left into Lot 9 and wait for the shuttle bus that will be running every ten minutes.
From I-35 going NORTH to San Marcos:
Exit I-35 at Exit 206 and proceed to traffic light.
At traffic light, turn left onto Aquarena Springs Drive.
After crossing the underpass traffic light, go past two more traffic lights and over railroad tracks.
Immediately after railroad tracks, Parking Lot 9 will be on your left. (The shuttle bus pick-up sign will be visible from the street.) Turn left into Lot 9 and wait for the shuttle bus that will be running every ten minutes.
