Austin National College Fair
The Austin National College Fair will be held on Tuesday, April 9 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, TX from 5:30pm-8:30pm . Sponsored by the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and hosted by the Texas for College Admission Counseling (TACAC), this event is free and open to the public. Complete information about this National College Fair can be found online: www.nacacnet.org/austin
As the process of applying to and selecting a college becomes more and more competitive and complex, students and parents need all the help and information they can get. Attending a college fair is the best way to gather information about colleges and universities. The National College Fair program provides valuable resources for students and parents attempting to navigate the college-admission process.
Additional information was sent to the High schools, including:- It is a great opportunity for juniors, but any high school student can attend. Since this is an evening event, let's encourage and allow as many students to go if they have parent permission. It has been my experience, that attending such an event as this can motivate students to start dreaming and planning. Walking into the exhibit hall with the sea of recruiters is amazing!! University banners, tech college logos, culinary food smells, free materials, and blue tablecloths are everywhere!
- There are already more than 300 international and national college admissions directors registered to attend. There will also be free admissions and financial aid counseling for students- not to mention workshops on tips for getting into college, financial aid, planning for High school, NCAA regulations and more!! Some of our students have never been to the Convention Center in Austin.
Please, let's make this an evening to continue the dream that all students can go to a college (or post secondary opportunity) in the Hays CISD community and find a way to pay for it.Austin National College FairDate and Time
