Kazim Ali Book Signing and Reading
Come see Kazim Ali read and sign his work at The Wittliff Collections, which is located at the top floor of the Alkek Library on Texas State University's campus on Thursday, November 29th at 3:30pm.
The following day (Friday November 30th), Kazim Ali will do another reading and book signing in Kyle, at the Katherine Anne Porter Literary Center, which is located at 508 Center Street, and will start at 7:30pm.
Kazim Ali's books include several volumes of poetry, including The Far Mosque, winner of Alice James Books' New England/New York Award, The Fortieth Day, and the cross-genre text Bright Felon: Autobiography and Cities. He has also published a translation of Water's Footfall by Sohrab Sepehri. His novels include Quinn's Passage, named one of "The Best Books of 2005" by Chronogram magazine and The Disappearance of Seth. His books of essays include Orange Alert: Essays on Poetry, Art and the Architecture of Silence and Fasting for Ramadan. In addition to co-editing On the Poetry of Jean Valentine, he is a contributing editor for AWP Writers Chronicle and associate editor of the literary magazine FIELD and founding editor of the small press, Nightboat Books. He is an associate professor of Creative Writing and Comparative Literature at Oberlin College and teaches in the Masters of Fine Arts program of the University of Southern Maine.
